High Efficiency Rating Makes Dollars and Cents
Approximate Annual Cooling Cost Comparison
SEER - Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, a measure of the efficiency of an air conditioner or a heat pump, expressed as the ratio of output in BTUs to the energy input in watts.
If your current system is more than 10 years old, it could be as low as 6.00 SEER. (SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio Compare the estimated annual cooling bill of a 6.00 SEER system with a higher SEER such as 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, or 14.00. For instance, if the annual cooling bill of a 6.00 SEER system was $1000, it could potentially cost only $400 for a 14.00 SEER system, or a potential annual savings of 60%. Now, that makes dollars and sense, doesn't it?
Note: Potential energy savings may vary depending on your personal lifestyle, system settings, equipment maintenance, local climate, actual construction and installation of equipment and duct system.
